Creating Creative Content

Does maintaining your social media feel monotonous? Are you avoiding having a professional social profile, or are you avoiding posting to the profiles you already have? Shame. Shame. Shame…

…But not really. We totally get it. It can be a lot to handle. Sometimes generating content for social media can feel like a burden. Which is a shame, because the more inspired your content the better the social response.

We want to share a few ideas for generating the creative content we all know is needed:

Where do you go to clear your head?

Every business owner leaves their office eventually. No matter how entrenched in your business’ cause, you have to do something every now and then to clear your head. Do you have a special park you walk with your dog? What about a great look out point on your favorite hike? Next time you’re at that favorite spot, running through life’s deepest thoughts and pondering the direction of your own path, take a pic of that point of view. Share and explain why this spot is special to you.

Who or what inspired you to do what you do today?

All of us have had someone or something in our lives that helped us get to where we are today. Sharing your back story and where your inspiration comes from is great content that also gives the reader a glimpse into your company’s founding and history.

Get visual with it.

Pictures. Images. Photos. Snap them. Take them. Share them. The next time your work team does something outside of the office, take a photo and share it! The next time you find yourself at a cool spot for a networking event, snap that image! Sharing photos is a much more personal approach in content than shared info off a website. We think you get the point here…

Who is in alignment with your organization and its mission?

Featuring other people or organizations who are in alignment with your company’s purpose is easy content that also helps encourage community bonds. If there is a non-profit you like, another girl-boss who is rocking it, or simply a product you feel strongly about, share and say why you feel this way.

Consider a creative platform for your company.

Luckily, the internet offers a plethora of social media sites for us to express a more creative side to our professional image. Instagram and Pinterest are two easy platforms to get creative with. Search these channels for inspiration from others, or use these platforms as a way to express a more artistic point of view to your company.
